The former president of Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito was a frequent target of attack.

Yugoslav President Josip Broz Tito is certainly in this region the person who was the target of assassins the most. He was hunted by members of the Chetnik and Ustasha and Albanian emigrations, but also by Stalin's agents. Each of his journey around the world was followed the assassination attempt.

That was in 1963, when the Chetnik emigration decided to liquidate Tito during his visit to America, which lasted from 16 to 25 October.

Dubrovnik log at the time announced that it in 1950 an assassination attempt has been performed on Josip Broz Tito. Dubrovnik log stated Tito survived direct attack in Dubrovnik thanks to the bulletproof vest vest.

As stated, the security services and the Yugoslavian National Army and the High ranking office had information that there could be assassination and therefore Tito always wore a bulletproof vest.

Dubrovnik daily said that the leadership Informbiro emigration in the Soviet Union and Romania concluded that Tito should be liquidated in the traditional manner.

There is information that Stalin tried to liquidate Tito 22 times.

Legend has it that the attacks stopped only when Broz sent a message: "Stop sending assassins to liquidate me, If you do not, I'll send one to Moscow. I will not need another!"

Also, unconfirmed data show that the most famous assassination attempt on Tito was poisoning by Russian doctors who were sent to Yugoslavia, but the assassins were stopped in their intent and were returned to Stalin, but in the coffin!?
