Those are all messages to Serbs that they are not welcome in Croatia

On all sides of freshly painted and restored Orthodox church of St. George in Zegar in North Dalmatia, "HDZ" (Croatian Democratic Union) was written in large letters.

President of the Documentation Center "Veritas" Savo Strbac told Srna that this is yet another in a series of provocations in recent times in Zegar, which was pure orthodox village, where even today there are no other nationalities, especially no Croats.

- For the HDZ i can not say that it is the Ustasha symbol, but where did it come from in Orthodox village, on Orthodox cemetery, on Orthodox church, if its not a provocation? What its said HDZ, Serbs take it as Ustasha message, like "Ready for homeland". Many don't make difference - said Strbac.

He reminded that there were a lot of provocations lately like departure of the Croats to Blaiburg under the guidance of the parliament, then in Sunday, during the local elections, departure of the entire Croatian leadership, lead by the president of the state to the Mass in honor of Alojzije Stepinac.

Those are all messages to Serbs that they are not welcome in Croatia. That fits in rigorous implementation of the law on residence and illegal deletion of Serbs from their residences - said Strbac.

When it comes to erasing Serbs from their residences, Strbac said that, according to Croatian data, there are at least 67.000 erased people, and not all areas of Croatia were covered, but 11 counties.

There are Serbs in other parts of Croatia and Zagreb, which means that the number must be much greater - said Strbac.

He says that invitations to Serbs lately to take their own material from their demolished houses in war can be connected to this, as well as that the graves in Knin cemetery are considered empty because the graves are considered deserted because the owners did not contact them or payed for the maintaining of the graves.

- On one side Croats are behaving like there was no war, when they call the owners of the demolished houses and abandoned graves, and that people went on their own will to Australia, America, Serbia, and on the other we have moves like this, going to Blajburg, to the mass for Stepinac and HDZ writings and other Ustasha symbols - said Strbac.
