"Bar Code", where the fatal fight began, is now one of the safest clubs in the summer resort. Employees are shaking their heads and lift their arms when the American and arrested Serbs are mentioned. They reluctantly recall that night of July 7 which marked the club like a place well known for that crime.

However, although all eyes of the world were pointed at the "Bar Code" for a moment, guests keep coming here every day. Laganas and its main street, where the club is located, are not losing on their wild rhythm of day and night parties.

- There are dozens of fights like that in Laganas. There were dead, but nothing like that happened here in this club! - said the employees in "Bar Code".

British, Serbs, Italians, are rotating at the entrance of the club, and the boards in front of the club are announcing the sports games in the Serbian language. This place is known as a cafe where Serbs are mostly gathering, but there are always foreigners.

- There was nothing special that evening. However, there was a quarrel at one moment. Because of what? I would say, because of the ego of these young men. By the way. it'sts not hard to provoke guys from Serbia - explains one of the workers of the popular club.

They explain in the club that the reason for a fight is that the girl who worked there that evening had a drink with Henderson.

- She took a shot with the Americans and one of the Serbs was annoyed and said: "B*tch, why are you drinking with Americans?". He hit the American and he returned. Then Henderson broke a bottle, ready to fight. He was shouting: "F*ck you, f**k your family", and he then started to run while the others chased him. One of the colleagues tried to stop them, but it was impossible. They arrived at the club "Lash". That's where he hit his head, and he dropped dead - they told in the club.

- Fights and incidents are common, but "Bar Code" is the safest place on Zakynthos now, because if another incident happened, they would probably close them down - said one of the Serbian tour guides.

Nine people were at first arrested after Henderson, a student from Austin, Texas, was beaten to death on 7th July. Milos Ilic, Nemanja Petrovic, and Stefan Stojanovic are currently in detention in Avlon, in prison for minors. Suspected Dusan Rankovic and Milos Senic are in other prisons in Greece, and Nenad Jovanovic and Sinisa Petrovic were released to defend themselves from freedom.

THE INVESTIGATION IS IN STANDSTILL DUE TO VACATIONS

The detention was determined for the suspects until the start of the trial, which according to Greek law can last up to 18 months. The young men are charged with the crime of complicity in the murder, and the trial will be in the Greek town of Patras.

- After hearing the defendants and some witnesses, during the first ten days after the event, the investigation virtually stood in place due to summer vacations. Now, the most important thing is that we get an autopsy finding as soon as possible, and we have to wait for it, as they told us, at least three months. Two days ago I visited Milos Ilic, Nemanja Petrovic, and Stefan Stojanovic, who are in juvenile jail in Avlon because they are younger adults - says lawyer Zora Dobricanin Nikodinovic.

- They went to school during the summer, and they learned the language, and now they are moving on. The only uncertain thing is if they will hold Stefan here because had his birthday and is now 21 years old. They feel well and do not have problems with other prisoners, and the prison staff is treating them well - she added.
