Spectacle in Athens: Ivkovic finished his career with honors

The legendary coach has said his goodbye with a friendly match between Olympiakos and Duda's Stars Team in Piraeus

Legendary Serbian basketball coach Dusan Ivkovic officially ended his career on September 20 with a farewell match in Athens between Olympiakos, the team where he was the champion of Europe twice, and the team "Duda's Stars" made by the players he used to train.

Before the match, Ivkovic was officially handed the trophy "Legend of the Euroleague" and became the first coach to receive this award. Duda will become a member of the FIBA Hall of Fame on September 30th.

In the friendly match between Duda's Stars and Olympiakos, the victory went to the Stars, 111:103, but that wasn't the goal, but the fun and the friendship of the basketball players who were trained by the legendary expert. The game was ended 28 seconds before the end, which symbolizes 28 trophies Ivkovic won. The most important ones are Euroleague 2x, Uleb Cup, Saporta Cup, Cup Radivoje Korac, and many other titles with the Yugoslav national team. 

Duda has left the hall with the song of Frank Sinatra - "My way". 

At the end of the month, popular "Duda" will officially become a member of the FIBA Hall of Fame.

Many great basketball names have attended Duda's farewell game to retirement, and the special guest was the best Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic.

Popular guests who were present were Zeljko Obradovic, Sasa Danilovic, Sasa Djordjevic, Zarko Paspalj, Drazen Dalipagic, Dejan Tomasevic, Panagiotis Fasoulas, Theodoros Papaloukas, Dino Radja, Zoran Cutura, Branislav Prelevic, Nenad Krstic...

Bogdan Bogdanovic, Stefan Markovic, Boban Marjanovic, Vasilije Micic, Darije Saric, Karl Heinz, Pera Antic, Kostas Slukas and many more played for the team of Duda's Stars.

On the other side, Olympiacos played with their strongest lineup with Vassilis Spanoulis, Georgios Printezis and Nikola Milutinov.

Ivkovic, who is turning 74 soon, lead the teams like Partizan, Aris, Radnicki from Belgrade, Sebenka, Olympiacos, Moscow CSKA and Dinamo, Efes and others, he won Euroleague twice (1997 and 2012), Eurocup (2006), European cup Radivoje Korac (1976) and Cup Saporta (2000), with 15 titles of the champion of the state and cups in the states where he worked in.

As a coach of the national team, he won the title of the champion of the world in 1990, three European gold medals (1989, 1991 and 1995), silver 2009, Olympic silver 1988.
