EU spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic reacted after Pristina banned some Serbian officials from entering Kosovo, saying those bans are not in line with the agreements reached in Brussels.

A few days ago, Pristina's foreign ministry banned some officials from Belgrade from entering the southern province, causing major problems.

FactsPlus news agency inquired about the issue and Belgrade's criticism of the European Union, whose officials said the EU-mediated dialogue defines modalities for official visits, and that officials should be informed about it.

"All other officials from Kosovo or Serbia who have not been notified have the right to move freely. We expect that all agreements reached within the framework of the EU facilitated dialogue will be respected and implemented during the election campaign," said EU spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic.

She said those bans are not in line with the agreements reached in Brussels, but that when those visits relate to election campaign time, everyone must respect "Kosovo laws."

"Banning Serbian officials from entering Kosovo is not in accordance with or reached by these agreements. All those who are campaigning for this election in Kosovo are expected to act in accordance with Kosovo's laws and international standards," said Kocijancic.
