I HAVE NEVER SEEN SNOW, THERE IS NO SUCH THING IN AFRICA: Migrants are thrilled seeing winter in Serbia!

Snow storms surprised everybody this winter, but most of all the refugees who are staying at the migrants' center in the suburban area of Krnjača, Belgrade.

Not one of them has ever seen snow, and the flakes drew smiles on their faces.

- I make snowballs even without gloves and I do no find it difficult. I do not know how people in Serbia feel, but I would prefer the snow to fall constantly and that it remains like this. In Africa we do not have snow or winter like this. I have never seen a scene like this in my entire life - said excitedly Fehaid Mude from Somalia.

He has stayed in Serbia for 5 months, and he spent that time learning our language.

- If I get the papers, I will stay here - explained Fehaid who has learned to play cards in the refugee's center and has spent most of the time there, before the snow started.

Now, he spends most of his time playing outside.

Jan Muhammad from Pakistan also likes snow, and he would like to stay in Serbia if he gets the permission.

- I have been here for the last 4 months. I like the people, I like the food, and I got used to the weather conditions which are rather different than in my country. I do not know why people here do not like snow, because I find this beautiful - said Jan.

Unlike them, many migrants who are staying in Krnjača for the time being want to use the first available chance and continue traveling to the EU.

- My goal is to reach Germany and no one will stop me from that. I am here only because it is cold and I will stay here until the weather gets better. Winter and snow are very nice, but not for someone like me. It will only slow me down - said Mustaffa Kamara from Gambia.
