Confession of Ivan (27) from the richest country in the world: I made 6.000 euros in a month, but they treated me like garbage!

Oil and gas have made Qatar the richest country in the world. According to the CIA, about 14 percent of households in Qatar are millionaires, and the unemployment rate is only 0.1 percent. There is no tax - not even for foreigners.  That is why our people are going to choose Qatar to quickly earn a lot of money.

Less than a century ago, Qatar was living in extreme poverty, and it has become a leader in wealth now. Education and health care are free. Jobs and housing are guaranteed. Water and electricity are free. Looking from the outside, everything is perfect.

- It all sounds good, but after a few days I realized that I was wrong as I unpacked suitcases. You are handed with a return ticket for slightest mistake or if you don't fulfill their unrealistic expectations - this man from Belgrade remembers.

He says it does not matter whether you go there as a waiter, a fitness instructor, athlete or manager of the hotel.

- Everybody have the same conditions. Sauna, pools, massage, gym, expensive food... nothing is a problem. They are arrogant because they can buy anything, especially manpower. 

- If we had those kind of conditions in Serbia, no one would be able to beat us in anything. They have the money, but not the knowledge and the capabilities. That is why they hire us. We Serbs are unlucky, we are working forever for someone else, and they have money dropping from the sky without any effort - adds Ivan.

- More than anywhere else, its all about the money. In my case, after my first day, while i was getting to know my work, they were not to happy and they just informed me that a ticket has been bought for me to return home.

- I was surprised because i quit my job in Serbia, i left everything to come to Qatar. And they are "cutting" people without thinking - Ivan is sincere.

Precisely because of that, Serbs are joking among them in Qatar that their bags are always packed, and they are ready to move.

He adds that he heard a lot of similar stories, that people often came and stayed for few days only, he was lucky and he stayed for entire month, and earned at least some money. Athletes have it the worst, because they have to score 5 goals each game or else they can pack they cases.

- I had the impression that they are unhappy with life that they now have. The money in their country attracted people from all over the world, changed their way of life, and we all know how closed these countries are.

- And now as if they retaliate with that kind of behavior, and they asked for it themselves. That is why the play with people and they change them as if they come off of a production line - said this man from Belgrade.

Upon returning from Belgrade, it took him time to return to normal life and he said that he is not sure that he would dare to make such a decision againi.

- When friends asked me if they should go, i told them all to go if they have a strong stomach. Money is spent quickly, but the feeling someone was treating you like trash goes away much slower - he concludes.
