By a majority of the votes, the commission decided not to award individual awards for ideas received at a public call to create a slogan that would be used in the campaign. Do you have any suggestions for the slogan?

The Ministry of culture and information and the Government Population policy have chosen the winners of the of the campaign for slogan which would encourage the birth rate in Serbia: "Love and the baby - the first thing we need!" and "Make babies, don't postpone!". The Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Gender Equality Coordination Body Zorana Mihajlovic responded saying that she thinks that the members of the committee missed the point entirely. What do you think about it?

Mihajlovic stated that most of the selected slogans place an obligation and imperative for women to give birth, which can only cause a counter-effect.

- In addition to concrete incentives, the birth of children is intertwined with the conditions in our health, education, the media, and also with the cultural life of our country. That's why I think that the commission that chose these slogans did not sufficiently look at the whole picture of the birth-rate problem in Serbia - Mihajlovic said.

The ministry originally chose six slogans instead of the planned three.

The two slogans share the first place "Love and the baby - the first thing we need!" of Dragutin Kruska (Belgrade) and "Make babies, don't postpone!", the second place went to "Mom - I don't want to be alone, dad - I want a bro" of Vanja Milic (Kursumlija), and "enough talk, let it be born" of Milos Veljovic (Belgrade).

The third place went to slogans "Miracles don't happen. Miracles are born" of Marijana Aracki (Belgrade) and "Let the children be born, and nice things happen" of Jelena Fatovic Nikolic (Pancevo).

By a majority of the votes, the commission decided not to award individual awards for ideas received at a public call to create a slogan that would be used in the campaign.

Similar incentives for increasing birth rates are being applied worldwide, but it seems that they are condemned only in Serbia. Copenhagen applied a similar approach and launched a campaign called "Cum for Denmark". What would be the reaction of citizens across Serbia if billboards with slogans appeared "Cum for Serbia". Then the men would be offended.

According to a Danish newspaper "Politiken", about 1,200 little Danes are expected to be born between June and August more than last year. In total, about 16,200 babies will be born, and the majority believe that the campaign has yielded fruit.
