After two sets against Swiss and five lost finals, the best Serbian tennis player won the only masters he didn't have, and he became the first player to win all nine and to reach the Golden Masters!

In the end, 6:4, 6:4 - Novak had key break points in the seventh gem. It was the first time he took Federer's break in Cincinnati since 2009.

He played perfectly, there is no doubt about that. Serve was good, especially the second one, and he was aggressive on Roger's serve.

We can't remember when Federer lost to his serve when he had a 40:0 lead, but that happened in the second set. The set that didn't start very well because Federer led with 2:0 and it was his serve, but Djokovic returned a break and he took another one. And he needed just one to take the lead in the first set.

It was also the 24th victory of Djokovic over Federer who stayed at 22 triumphs, and it's worth mentioning that the two did not meet from the Australian Open in 2016. Fate wanted them to play for the trophy in Cincinnati where Federer used to celebrate a few years ago.

Interestingly, the two of them met in the Cincinnati Finals every three years. Everything started in 2009, then in 2012 and 2015, and then now in 2018.

- Roger is the greatest champion this sport has ever had and it is a pleasure being with him on the court. Thank you for your congratulations. Also, I am thanking my family and everybody who were with me. There, I won Cincinnati for the first time in my career. I missed this tournament in the past several years, but it was worth it. I hope to defend it next year - Djokovic said after the match.

Novak had a great start of the match. He had a great chance at the beginning to take the break point from Federer. From 30:00 he reached 40:30, but Federer had a great Serve. Then Novak had the advantage at one moment, and Roger hit the line and he made it. Then two more good serves for 1:0 in set points. On the other side, Novak wone a gem for 1:1.

Federer won a gem for 2:1, although Novak had the initiative in a couple of times. However, he couldn't do anything with the volley shot at 40:0. In a next gem, Federer managed to get to 30:30, but Djokovic had two great serves and he tied for 2:2.

Serve was great for both tennis players at the beginning of the match. Especially for Federer who reached the lead of 3:2 with 4 aces. It was the only gem with 0  points, just like Novak's for 3:3. Interestingly, Djokovic had a phenomenal second serve.

Federer cursed for some alleged uneven terrain, and the referee warned him for his language.

Thanks to the aces, a total of three in this gem, Djokovic confirmed break he has won earlier and he took the lead with 5:3. Public reacted at this moment and they greeted the Serbian tennis player.

Novak didn't try much to reach the set on Federer's serve. As if he preserved strength for the gem where he served, and he had a nervous start.

However, a good serve brought him to 30:15, and then the set - 6:4! First one in the finals of Cincinnati in history, although he already played in it 5 times.

From 0:30 at the beginning of the second set, Federer reached 40:30. Anger could be seen in his eyes and he hit the ball from all of his might. He then threw one in the out for 40:40, but he won the gem and took the lead for 1:0.

The second gem brought the first break ball for Federer, although Novak had 40:15. Simply put, his hand shook and that could be clearly seen when Novak made a double mistake - 2:0.

Great tennis could be seen in the third Gem when Novak reached two break points. He didn't use the first one, but he did the second one. However, Roger helped him by sending one clear ball to the out- 2:1.

At the start of the fourth gem in the second set, we saw a strange situation where Novak received a warning since his time to serve was over. Serbian ace didn't know that the time was ticking from the moment he stood up from the bench. Then there was a short talk with the referee and the gem with 0 points for 2:2.

Novak increased the pace in the next gem but he just managed to reach to 40:30. Federer then had a strong serve and he forced the Serb to shot the ball into the out- 3:2.

The strange thing was the great number of mistakes Federer has made, and one of those brought Djokovic to 30:15. Later on to the gem for 3:3. This was the 24 mistake by the Swiss.

He had two more for 40:0. And Novak reached to 40:40. After three ties, there was a third double serve error and Djokovic took the break for 4:3.
