In the suitcase, which was reported by the owner Z. D. at the Airport "Nikola Tesla", officers yesterday found 400,000 euros.

Lost bag with 400,000 euros found in Belgrade!

The Slovenian, who has Australian citizenship, arrived in Belgrade from Barcelona via Athens, and continued on to Australia.

This adventure  through Europe is very strange is it not?

When they discovered the money, the Slovenian said that he had won the money 10-12 years ago in the lottery, and when asked by the customs officer why he did not report it, Ž. D. said he was confused and scared that his luggage would not be found. After his arrest, he claimed that he had paperwork and documentation on the origin of money, but that he had not taken it with him and so could not show them to the investigating authorities, writes Politika.

BE CAUTIOUS: Counterfeit dinar bills are all over, here's how to recognize them!

Customs officers confiscated the money and gave him 10, 000 euros, which is the permitted amount without reporting, and the man paid the fine of 100, 000 dinars. However, no matter how strange this situation is, our competent institutions do not have the right to confiscate the foreigner's passport.

However, that this story is suspicious from the beginning is confirmed by the story concerning the money that Z. D. recounted. He claimed that he had words with his family in Slovenia, and that he returned to Australia with that money. However, he soon changed his mind and came back to Slovenia.

SERBIAN BUSINESSMAN ARRESTED: He defrauded his company for 30 MILLION EUROS !

When his suitcase in Belgrade was lost, he settled in one of the capital's hotels, and when it was found, they asked if he wanted his luggage delivered to the hotel after the search, which he refused and hastily came to the airport. Only then the scanner detected suspicious content in the suitcase, and when it was opened in front of him, the money was discovered.

Otherwise, what is also very interesting is the fact that the money was in small denominations of 10, 20 and a maximum of 50 euros. Subsequent verification found  that the Z. D. spent time in Serbia over the past few years.

This "unfortunate" man has the right to appeal within 24 hours, but whether he will do that and whether he will stay in Belgrade, remains to be seen ...
