- Now it can be expected that Kosovo, with its request for admission, directly contacts UNESCO - Dacic said for "Blic" .

As part of these preparations, Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci last week sent a letter to colleagues from the 195 member states of UNESCO to keep them informed on the progress and asked for their vote at a meeting of the Executive Board of UNESCO in October and at the General Conference of UNESCO in November.

The Executive Council of UNESCO will decide if the request arrives from Kosovo and Montenegro. When asked who Montenegro would vote for, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro yesterday commented that they would bring their stance on Kosovo's request, but only if it is officially on the agenda.

On the list of UNESCO are Serbian monasteries of Visoki Decani, Gracanica, Pec Patriarchate and the Church of Our Lady of Ljeviš. These Serbian sanctities would, if Kosovo entered into UNESCO, pass under the protection of Pristina, which is unacceptable for Serbia.
