HE RUSHES AROUND THE CITY AND HE DOESN'T USE PETROL! Meet MARKO (23), the legend of Paracin! (PHOTO)

He doesn't take off his roller skates even when he goes to the market, his street to ride in is the main street in Paracin

You can see Mako Marjanovic (23) on every corner in Paracin. If you are a driver - on the street, if you are a pedestrian - on the sidewalk

IN THIS SERBIAN CITY you can have a BURGER a COKE and a COFFEE for only 340 DINARS!

He will "fly" by you on his roller skates like the wind and maybe, in his way of saying hello, make some figure. He is Marko the roller skater, his way of transportation has become his nickname. Without his wheels he doesn't even go to the market, he slides among the shelves with skill, and he goes down the stairs even better. He uses his feet only when its wet or there is a lot of wind/

Since i stepped on the skates which my dad bought to me when i was 10, i haven't got off of them since. Those skates were ordinary, Chinese made and plastic, and my father held me for a week until i got some courage. Later, i got a real professional skates from my aunt from Italy, and i have similar ones today. I bought on the internet the third ones.

I take a lot of care about the quality and maintenance, and i differ them by their kinds. Of course i fell down and i still do, even tho i learned a lot of things watching professionals on the internet - says Marko, who arrived to the interview with the Telegraf in no other way than on roller skates.

During his roller experience, which is more than a decade long, he had 2 crashes he told us about. First time, around 10 years ago, he was in Vrnjacka Vanja, and he just started trying out the skates he got from his aunt. He was going down casually down the steep street, and he realized suddenly that he won't be able to avoid it - the crash.

- On one side there was a kiosk, on the other side a tree and a river, and two older ladies. In order not to hit the ladies i decided to "hug" the tree , but i miscalculated my speed and i managed to "nail" myself with the head to the tree. My face, nose and an eye was hurt, i haven't stepped on the skates for a month after that.

- For the second time, in front of "Maxi", i don't know what happened but my legs got crossed and i fell down nastily. I was out of conscience for 30 seconds and a woman rushed to my help. I just shook the dust of me and i continued on - said this shrewd fellow.

Even thought everybody knows Marko, it is difficult because the Traffic law does not recognize roller skates as the means of transportation. So as a participant of the traffic, he doesn't know where he belongs - on the road or the sidewalk.

- Once in a single day, i had the encounter with tho police officers. The first stops me and says: "You can't drive on the road, you are disturbing the traffic! You don't have a winker, no stop lights, you can't stop on the traffic lights like the others! Go on the sidewalk!".

So i continue to drive on the sidewalk, and some time after that the second policeman stops me: "Are you crazy, driving around the pedestrians, pregnant women and small children? Turn around, driving fast, jumping! Get down on the street!". And what can i do, i give up on the talking and i listen, and i pray to God not to meet the first officer again - explain with the smile on his face about his traffic experience.

Even thought he can develop the speed up to 55 kilometers per hour, he rarely goes outside of the city because he requires a good road for skates. He would go to Jagodina with no problem, but the road is bad, his silicone wheels would wore down. So he mostly drives in the main street, from the "Central Cafe" to the hotel "Petrus".

He travels 15 kilometers for two hours of driving. That relaxes him and gives him a good exercise, like doing any other sport.

He said that he thinks about opening the school for kinds to teach them how to drive. Many ask him for advice on how to brake, how to do this or that. If he lived abroad he could participate in various competition the roller skaters are organizing. There are competitions in artistic driving, extreme, traffic...

- There are no competitions like that in Serbia. There is only "rolleriad" in Belgrade, but that is just a race for the masses, i am not attracted to that - concludes Marko.
