The boy was heavily injured with a firecracker in Ljubljana and both of his palms were amputated, announced last night in Clinical Center of capital of Slovenia

The accident occurred in boy's room while he was playing with pyrotechnics, reports the Hina agency.

- The boy has injuries on his face, of his eyes and his hearing, and his hand injuries were so difficult we had to amputate his palms - said on the press conference the Head of Department for Burns, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Clinical Center in Ljubljana, Uros Ahcan and added that the boy is stable and conscious.

Firecrackers are strictly forbidden in Slovenia except during the New Year holidays, but the police constantly warns on accidents that occur every year. There have been 15 cases of heavy injuries with firecrackers last year, mostly among teenagers and young people, reports Hina.
