And his words are warning us

Shooting on the Croatian island of Rab, where psychiatrist Dr. Sinisa Rakic was murdered, shocked Croatia, and information of almost a siege situation has gone through the region with lightning speed, where former war participant in Croatia, Srdjan S. first killed the doctor, and then shot his wife, who managed to save her life by jumping through the window.

Village in Serbia wrapped in darkness: In the same place where the killer murdered Andjelina (3) and Dragana (47), two dead hunters were found yesterday!

The Croatian media quickly announced the identity of a doctor who reportedly reported Srdjan because of whom he could not get a job. Dr. Rakic gave an interview a few years ago for the Rijeka's Novi List, and the Croatian media especially emphasized his sentences that analyzed progress in reducing aggression in people.

- I would say that night is the result of the preparation of the day. When we estimate that intervention is needed, we try to solve it through the day. It was much more dynamic in the past, but new therapies brought new quality of treatment, a new way of work and some kind of calmness during work. When I just came to this institution, there were many more interventions, during the night and during the day.

- There were more classical psychiatric conditions, violence and aggression, but this is completely different now, it is a more peaceful, individual work in which we try to approach the patient and recognize what he needs. As there is no extreme in life, our work is not only related to medication and psychotherapy. It seems to me that this also contributes to the change in society, there are no more stereotype. In fact, we are a service activity today, we are here for the people and patients and, of course, their families", said Dr. Rakic.

- It is frustrating when you are trying to help a person, and they don't understand what you want to say. But, we always think that if it doesn't work well now, we will try the next time. And most often it works. We try to understand because there is always reason in everyone's behavior. Especially in the people who don't act rationally in those moments, but emotionally and instinctively - said the murdered Sinisa Rakic.
