Athlete of the generation: Nikola skips rope faster than the Guinness record holder! (PHOTO)
The desire of this still unofficial recorder is to try his luck in some basketball club when he goes to the studies in Novi Sad
Talent, hard work and continuous training payed off for the graduate of the "Dukan Vasiljev" high school from Kikinda - Nikola Putnik (18), who not only took the title of "athlete of the generation", but he unofficially broke Guinness record in rope skipping.

Official record holder jumps the rope 159 times in 30 seconds, Nikola jumps over 161 times in half a minute.
Principal of the high school, Ljubomir Zamurovic, informed the Guinness commission about these results, so their official answer is expected soon.
Nikola is into sports since his early childhood, he is successful in his basketball club "Velika Kikinda", and Nikola said that skipping rope wasn't always easy for him.
- I wasn't very successful in this discipline, my colleagues did that better than me. That made me focus to this on my gym classes, thanks to the professors Dojna Bajic and Ivana Ilijin - said this athlete.
Over time, Nikola becomes more successful at physical lessons, and he managed to jump 160 times in just a minute and he got A mark, and he kept skipping faster and better:
- I remember when i had to do 110 skips in one minute, and i surprised myself when i managed to skip way more than i needed for excellent grade. That motivated me to continue ant to try and beat my own record, and Guinness in time - said this hard working graduate who will soon go to Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Novi Sad.
Besides regular school obligations, Nikola has been active in sport, and as he said, he managed to accomplish everything - to study, to train and to have free time.
He is an excellent student, he is dexterous and successful in sports, and he took the flattering title of the "athlete of the generation".
- I am happy that my work is recognized, everyday training are pleasure for me, i like being active, doing sports doesn't only strengthen the body, but also the spirit - explains Nikola.
