People of Belgrade disappointed in Black Friday: They are cheating us, this is not on discount! We expected much more (PHOTO)

Why are we trying to be like Americans if we don't know how (or we can't). Some people got off from work earlier to do some shopping. Instead of that, you could only see one bag per person in Knez Mihajlova street

Numerous citizens confirmed that they are more than disappointed with the long-awaited discounts, and they say that they were nothing special at all.

Although we are all used to "being lured" with famous "sales", "discounts", "free", "half price", and we expected much more from Black Friday and long-awaited advertisements.

We walked the streets of Belgrade and we asked the citizens if they bought anything on the announced discounts for "Black Friday".

- This is a shame, I have been postponing the buying of a TV and I have been waiting for the Black Friday and discounts, and it was black and pathetic, nothing was more than 10-20% off, and there was no point in waiting anymore so I bought a TV with alleged discount, and that was actually the real price - said Marko who asked why are we trying to be Americans if we don't know how.

- I have been going to sports shops for days, I have been searching for shoes to buy when the discounts hit because the saleswoman told me that there will be discounts on Friday and when I came, there were no discounts. The ones I want were not on sale, and they didn't have my number, so I was mad. They only offer a discount for few models, which is a fraud - said the girl.

WHY CAN'T THERE BE SALES ONCE A YEAR LIKE THERE ARE IN THE WORLD?

- Every day you need to buy something in Serbia is a Black Friday, in every possible way. We don't get anything like the normal world, not even the discount like we are the second class citizens - the lady commented briefly.

Unline people in Europe who have the opportunity to shop daily on major sales, we live in an illusion that we grabbed some product which is on sale if it's 20% off. And the people claim that the shops increase their prices before the discounts so when they offer discounts, it is basically the same price which was during the entire year.

- What kind of discount, there is no such thing in Serbia, that is rubbish! Do you see anyone carrying more than one bag in Knez Mihajlova street, where are all the cheap items people bought if the prices are so low?! Did we ever have a 70% discount and don't get me started on discounts like in Europe, we are far from Europe and from real discounts - concluded the young man who mentioned the colleague who left work earlier on Friday hoping that he will get the wanted product.

Because we don't have any real discounts, citizens often decide to spend one day in shopping centers in Vienna, Munich, or in some similar city. The most visited stores are outlets which offer various brands in a single place, and they are cheaper at the start because they offer products which are from the last season, and there are occasional sales for New Year or, in this case, Black Friday, and that is a price an average Serbian buyer can afford.

- We were in Greece this summer and we went to an outlet near Athens. It is incredible what kind of prices they have. We saw that besides the discount, you get an additional 70% discount on your second item. I bought leather sandals for 30 euros and shoes which cost 7 euros. My son bought leather shoes for 16 euros which cost 80 euros in Belgrade "on sale", not to mention the regular price. So, I am not buying anything here anymore, because I don't believe in quality, nor in discounts - said the lady Vera.

The National Consumer Organization of Serbia announced on its website a year ago a public appeal, warning that the number of objections to the quality of products of famous fashion brands has increased, which confirms the suspicions of Serbian citizens that they do not receive the same quality as citizens in Europe.

Apart from the quality, it seems that we do not get a discount that is announced in advance, so the question really arises, as one lady said, are we second-class citizens?
