According to the preliminary data which was delivered to the portal by the Ministry of science and education, classes won't be held in the year 2018/2019 in six regional schools where there are no students, and two schools are being closed since they are moving to the newly built school.

It is an alarming data, reports Index.hr, that no new students enrolled in 117 schools this year.

According to preliminary data from the state administration offices in the counties, no student was enrolled in 113 regional schools and four primary schools, and only schools which have new students are in Varazdin County and in Zagreb, reports the portal.

No student enrolled in the first grade in 19 counties, and the classes were held in 1.136 school districts.

- If we calculate the percentage of schools with no students in the first class, it is 9.95 per cent - they said in the ministry, adding that some schools, which do not have any students in the first grade, won't be closed, because there are students of the 2nd, 3rd, and fourth grade, so they will continue working, stated Index.hr.
