As part of the announcement that more money will be invested in the defense system this year, one of the most important development projects will be modern equipment for 3,000 troops. As we announced at the end of last year, according to security challenges, 1.500 members of the Serbian Army will receive equipment in March. Serbian special forces will be the first to receive new guns, ballistics protection, and a number of means on the adopted model, called the "Soldier of the 21st century."

Vucic congratulated Trump: Serbia is ready to be a reliable partner

We will be able to say that 1.500 soldiers of the Special brigade in Pancevo are the elite unit when then they receive new equipment in March, and that Serbian army becomes the most respectable military force on Balkans. This elite unit will be supplied with american modular riffles of 5.65 and 6.5 millimeters caliber, which was announced last July, when PM Aleksandar Vucic visited the home of Special unit in barracks "Rastko Nemanjic" in Pancevo.

Also, for Christmas, minister of defense Zoran Djordjevic said that, after equipping 1.500 soldiers, we will equip 1.500 more soldiers with the latest gear.

- The same equipment and weapons will be given to another contingent of troops, so that by the end of the year we will have about 3,000 troops equipped by the standards of the strongest armies in the world - according to the Ministry of Defense.

However, the biggest talk was the acquiring of 6 "MiG 29" from Russia, but also introduction of the plane "Lasta" and the usage of the complete composition of the "Orao" type of planes. However, 10 days ago, minister Djordjevic was in Belarus, and information appeared in home media that there are negotiation about acquiring 12 "MiGs 29" from Belarus.

It is certain that there will be words about the weaponry when vice president of Russian government Dmitry Rogozin comes to visit Belgrade in March. We remind you, during the stay of PM Vucic and minister Djordjevic in Moscow, there were announcements that the anti-aircraft defense will be second faze of the agreement with Russia, which began with donation of planes, tanks and combat vehicles.
