Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic announced that Guinea-Bissau has withdrawn their decision to recognize Kosovo.

Earlier, the prime minister of that country, Umaro Sissoco Embalo, paid a visit to Serbia and spoke with the highest Serbian officials.

- Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau informed me that the country has withdrawn the decision on recognition of Kosovo - says Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic.

He added that this country had sent a note to Pristina today. As Dacic explained, Guinea-Bissau has annulled the recognition from 2011 in the letter. Prime Minister Umaro Sissoco Embarlo, who was on that function from November 2016, has said that the country never recognized Kosovo, more precisely, that "he never saw a single paper on recognition of Kosovo".

The Pristina media also published a facsimile verbal note by the Guinea-Bissau on the recognition of Kosovo, signed by the then, now late, state president, in 2011, as well as a photo of the deputy minister of foreign affairs of Kosovo, Vojo Citak, while receiving the note.

SURINAME WAS THE FIRST TO WITHDRAW THE RECOGNITION

The first state that withdrew the recognition of Kosovo as an independent state was Suriname, who made that decision on October 27, 2017.

Recently, the media in Kosovo have announced that Pristina has updated the list of countries that recognized Kosovo's independence and removed Nigeria and Uganda, "whose written notes of recognition Pristina has never received."

AFTER CAREFUL DISCUSSION

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guinea has sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia today, which they also sent to Pristina, stating that the government of the country has decided to withdraw the recognition of Kosovo.

- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and, in connection with its letter dated 10 January 2011, wishes to inform that the Government of the Republic of Guinea has, after careful consideration, decided to withdraw the recognition of Kosovo as independent and sovereign state - is stated in the letter.
