EU responded to Rama's statement that Albania and Kosovo should have one president

On the occasion of the statement by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama on Kosovo, the European Union said that "statements that can be interpreted as political interference in neighboring countries do not contribute to the building of good neighborly relations" in the Western Balkans. Rey said that "EU leaders have given irreplaceable support to the European perspective of the Western Balkans and will continue to act bilaterally with the countries of that region on their respective path to the Union, and towards better regional cooperation."

She said that "statements that can be interpreted as political interference in neighboring countries do not contribute to the building of good neighborly relations". 

"The EU, therefore, expects all the countries of the region to build constructive relations and cooperation and speed up a stronger reform program in order to advance on the path of EU integration," Rey said.

Rama spoke again about the creation of "Greater Albania" again in Pristina on the anniversary of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo, and not just joint embassies and diplomatic missions."
