The royal family got another member when, at 10.30 yesterday, Princess Danica, Filip's wife, gave birth to a son.

The little prince was born in Belgrade and in that honor, with the blessing of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, the bells of St. Sava's church were tolling, and this is the first time in the history that 49 bells of the greatest Orthodox temple in the Balkans have announced such a birth.

The mother and baby feel good. The parents, Prince Filip and Princess Danica, warmly thanked everyone on the congratulations, along with Crown Prince Alexander and Princess Katherine.

This is the first birth of a male child in a royal family in Serbia after 90 years when His Royal Highness Prince Tomislav was born in Belgrade. He was a brother of His Royal Highness King Petar II, grandfather of HRH Prince Filip.

Prince Filip is the twin brother of Prince Alexander, and the second in the order for the crown, after the Prince Successor Petar. He is the son of Crown Prince Alexander and Her Imperial and Royal Highness Princess Mary to Gloria of Orleans and Braganca. Prince Filip is the grandson of King Petar II and Queen Aleksandra.

Her Royal Highness Princess Danica was born in Belgrade on August 17, 1986. She has been living in Paris since 1992, where she completed most of her education and studies.

She graduated in graphic design and visual communications at the Academy of Applied Arts in Paris and in parallel with the Studies of Comparative Literature and Slavistics at the Sorbonne-Paris University. In London, Princess finished her Master of Graphic Design and Communication at the Chelsea College of Art and Design - the University of Art in London. She spent a large part of his childhood and growing up in Belgrade.

Prince Filip and Princess Danica got married at the Cathedral Church in Belgrade on October 7, 2017. The wedding was served by His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch, Mr. Irinej.
