The Slovenian police launched an investigation after the release of a video footage and photos on social networks of a group of armed and masked men, led by a right-wing former presidential candidate.

Serbia is disappearing, we will have less than 7 million residents this year!

Interior Minister Vesna Gjerkes Znidar announced on Tuesday that the authorities will not tolerate the existence of any parallel armed groups in Slovenia, the AP reported.

A video showing dozens of masked men dressed in military-like uniforms, holding a rifle and an axe, has caused concern in Slovenia, according to the US agency.

Nationalist politician Andrej Sisko confirmed the existence of this group, which he described as the guard of the Styrian region in the northeast.

Sisko, who won about two percent of the votes at last year's presidential election, is known for his nationalist and anti-immigrant attitudes, and his party, the Movement of United Slovenia, failed to enter parliament in the June elections.

Sisko told the STA that his group was not a paramilitary unit, but a "voluntary defense group of free people".

Senior Slovenian officials condemned the existence of this group.

President Borut Pahor said that such a group was "completely unacceptable", while Marjan Sarec, the mandate for the government, wrote on Twitter that an armed group outside the Slovenian security forces "is undermining the constitutional and legal order".

The Slovenian portal 24ur has announced that Slovenian extreme right-wing people who are portrayed as a "Styrian Guard" posted photos and videos on social networks from a gathering at the unknown location, announcing "hot autumn" and protests that will turn "Slovenia into Venezuela".

The portal stated that many Slovenes did not believe that such things were happening, but later on, that news was confirmed by former presidential candidate Andrej Sisko, who told the local media that he was at the helm of the group.
