The newly elected President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic spoke from his headquarters shortly after 22 hours. This is his first official speech as president of our country.

After trumpeters and champagne, Vucic stepped to the podium.

- Honorable President of the Serbian, ladies and gentlemen, distinguished citizens of Serbia, I am very proud of the fact that we got a huge confidence of the citizens of Serbia and of the 3,700,000 people who went to the polls, in our final assessment we had around 2,035,000 votes - said Vucic, and added:

- I'm grateful to the people and the citizens of Serbian nationality in Kosovo and Metohija, but also other nationalities who have supported us. I am very proud of the fact that we have got a huge number of votes in conditions that were not at all easy - he said.

As he pointed out, it is important that victory was clean as a whistle.

He thanked everyone, all citizens of Serbia, not thinking only of Serbs but also Bosniaks, Hungarians... He thanked in particular to Koceljeva, Doljevac and Zagubica, where more than 80 percent of the people voted for Vucic, which is rare nowadays.

He congratulated his rivals on the success that they achieved in the elections.

- When you add the number of votes and those who are not directly against the policy we have, then you realize that the vast majority for continuation of European process - said Vucic.

He explained how he was able to win not with populism, demagogy and chauvinism, but with hard work.

He thanked former President Tomislav Nikolic for keeping the government the way few succeed.

- It is very important that the people made it clear that they want to move forward, faster, stronger and better - he stressed.

He was, as he said, the most proud Prime Minister, he worked hard and together with the citizens he accomplished a lot.

- When I said I was expecting a huge growth in wages and pensions, people are going to receive it - promised Aleksandar Vucic.

He revealed that this year Serbia has seven billion dinars of surplus after the first three months.

- Votes for one, or for some anti-systemic candidates, tells me clearly that i have to worry about them and to speak to them, to show them that people who have a rough life, who have a rough life, if they haven't felt the reforms, to feel them now - said Aleksandar Vucic.

He promised to continue the fight against the corruption and that he will strengthen the institutions even further.

- We are becoming a civilized democratic society, and I am especially proud of this - said Vucic.

For the end of his speech, he had to say: "Long live Serbia!".

He said it was predicted that Serbia would vote like this, and that he scheduled a meeting tomorrow with statesmen from the Balkans in Mostar, he already has a new task in the morning as a president of Serbia.

When it comes to first move he will make as president, he said that he will work constantly. The most important is peace in the region, so that the state has progress, and in the morning he is going to Mostar to meet Plenkovic.

Aleksandar Vucic will be on the position of Prime Minister for two more months because his mandate will be over on 31st of May.

When he ended his speech, the trumpeters played again, with the old fold song "Igrale se delije".

Based on 79 percent of the treated sample, Vucic has 55.9 percent of the votes, Sasa Jankovic 15.5 percent, 9.4 percent Luka Maksimovic, Vuk Jeremic 5.8 percent.
