He said only one word in the courtroom and they all went silent: The mother of murdered Kristina (18) face to face with the murderer who stabbed her child 88 times (VIDEO)

David Komsic (20), Croat who massacred his pregnant girlfriend Kristina Krupljan (18) with 88 stabs in February last year, stepped in front of the face of justice.

The beginning of trial has shocked Croatia like no case before because Komsic behaved so casually, he arrived at the court with a smile on his face, while others looked at him. 

Komisic managed to shock everybody around him in the first sentence he said - on a question if he is still pleading innocent, he confidently said:

"Of course!".

The testimony of Vesna Krupljan began in 12:32, the mother of the unfortunate girl, who said at the start what she thought about the boyfriend of the murdered daughter.

- I didn't like him from the start. He "didn't feel right". They broke up, and got back together, they argued, there was something going on all the time - Vesna Krupljan said.

She added that David harassed Kristina in spite of having a restraining order and that he once smashed the intercom on the building where they lived in.

- David met Kristina few years before by the church. They knew each other from elementary school, they were going to the same grade. He once met her near the church and kicked her in the nose because he was in debt 270 euros with her. She told him to return the money, and he said that he won't. She called his father. That is why he kicked her. Her nose was bleeding and that was the first time when she ended up in hospital. He came in front of the house, although he had a restraining order. Once, he took her phone and her watch. His father called her father to make an agreement to avoid the police - the mother said, reports 24sata.hr.

Since Kristina didn't want to agree to that, he returned her phone but he took out her memory card to see the photos.

- The third time he came in front of the building, the rang the intercom, she didn't want to open so he smashed it. He intercepted her for the fourth time on 27th November 2016 ok Bukovac road when she was going back from the night out. He intercepted her with three friends and he smashed the review mirror on a car. They wanted to throw her away out of the car, he broke the glass. They ripped her hear and they hit her. She wanted to call the police but they took her phone and they ran away. She ended up in hospital, she was in a wheelchair, she had a neck collar. They destroyed the car - Vesna Krupljan said.

The perpetrators were arrested after 12 days. The process is still ongoing on the court. Kristina was summoned to give her statement about the case on Bukovac road on the day of her murder.

Kristina's mother looks back at the fatal evening.

- She said that she was going to her friend. She came home in the evening, she left the other phone in the jacket she had for the other boyfriend and she left. I went to work the night shift. My ex-husband called me and told me what happened. I immediately said that she was murdered by David Kosmic - the mother said.

Vesna Krupljan discovered about some messages that David sent to her daughter only when he has already killed her.

- Later I found out that he sent her messages "Whore, I will kill you, I will kill you tomorrow. I will beat you so you can't see your bruises". I found that out from the police. She just told me that he was sending some threatening messages. I am on a lot of medication so it is possible that I have forgotten some details.

Kristina's mother agreed with the assessment to sentence Komsic to 10 years in prison, and that he doesn't have the right to property claim.

The prosecutor Natalija Salvica then read the statements of Kristina's friends.

Ana-Marija Fucek said that David and Kristina's relationship was turbulent and that they couldn't be with each other, nor without each other.

- David was violent towards Kristina, he has beaten her, he broke her nose. He was jealous and possessive. He drove a Mercedes and he had a restraining order after the traffic accident and Kristina told that to his parents. We met Zdravko Krznaric in the club H20 Together. They were friends at first, but later they began a relationship. He is an architect. When Kristina told him that she was pregnant and that he wasn't the father of the child and that she wants to break up, he begged her to stay with him and that he will accept the child - Fucek said, reports Jutarnji.hr.

Another Kristina's friend, Josipa Banisic, said in the statement that she saw David's messages to Kristina: "You will be mine or no one's" and "Whore". Jelena Djapic confirmed her words, also Kristina's friend.

The trial began at 9:13, the father and uncle of Kristina Krupljan were present in the courtroom, as well as a cousin of David Komsic.

According to the indictment on February 22, 2017, David attacked Kristina with a knife in a car, stabbing her 77 times and inflicting 15 cuts on her head and body.

The lawyer of David Komsic said that the defense did not deny the factual description of the indictment, but they deny the subjective description of the act.

- We claim there are elements of insanity, according to the psychiatric evaluation - the lawyer Veljko Miljevic said.

The prosecution claims that David murdered 18-year-old Kristina in a cruel way and out of ruthless vengeance, for which the law gives the punishment of at least 10 years to much longer punishment.

It was determined that Komsic had THC in his blood and urine, which indicated that he consumed marijuana or hashish.
