This is the first competition for Spanovic after the gold on the European Indoor championship in Belgrade. Because of the injury, Ivana was forced to give up from competing in Ugine and Oslo. Because of that, she is now on sixth position in Diamond race with 8 points.
American Shakeela Saunders took the second place with 6.68 m jump, while the Olympic champion and the leading in general rankings with 21 points, Tianna Bartoletta, had the third best jump of 6.65 m. Russian Darya Klishina was fourth with 6.64 m.
In the first series Ivana stepped over the line, and Bartoletta took the lead with 6.59 m jump.
In the second series everything was alright - Spanovic got the score of 6.63 m and she emerged to the leading position. Soon after Darya Klishina went to that place in the third series with 6.64 m long jump, and Ivana stepped over again.
In the next series Ivana returned the lead - 6.79!

The Serb decided to skip the fifth series, and in the sixth she stepped on the line.

It is important to mention that new rules came with the new season, which have the aim to make the entire league more attractive, so the points are collected for the final competition during the entire season, and the winner is the one who accomplishes the best score in the finals.
In addition to performing at the Lausanne rally, Spain will also have the opportunity to attend the London rally on July 9th.
