Serbia bans guillotine, gallows and gas chamber!

The list of bans includes, among others, beds with shackles and other means of restraining people, as well as beds with bars or net

The Serbian Government has adopted a Decree banning the export, import and transit of goods that could be used for the execution of the death penalty, torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, with a list of these assets, irrespective of their origin.

Banned objects include gallows, guillotine and their blades, electric chairs for execution of people, hermetic chambers for execution of people with lethal gases or other substances, as well as automatic injection compounds for the deadly substance intended for execution of people.

Items that are not suitable for use by the authorities to restrain people are considered to be electric shock devices designed to be worn by a detained individual on the body, such as belts, sleeves, and handcuffs.

These include the serrated and unserrated handcuffs for thumbs and fingers, screws for their tightening and shackles in the form of a lever, for legs with weights and chains included in such shackles.

WITHOUT HANDCUFFS, NO ELECTRIC SHOCKS 

Handcuffs designed for fastening to the floor, wall or ceiling, as well as chairs equipped with shackles or other means of restraining people, are prohibited, but the chairs equipped with belts alone are not forbidden. 

There are also plates and beds with shackles and other means of restraining people on the list of prohibitions, other than those equipped only with straps or belts, as well as beds with bars or nets - in the form of cages or similar structures that forcibly lock human beings.

FORBIDDEN NIGHTSTICKS, BATONS, BEDS 

The traffic is forbidden of batons and nightsticks made out of metal or other materials with metal spikes, shields with metal spikes.

The prohibition also applies to whips consisting of several ropes or belts, such as a knot or nine-point whips, one or more of which are equipped with barbs, hooks, spikes, metal wires or similar objects which increase the effect of the rope or belt.
