RS, Serbia, four municipalities of Kosovo - here's how Dodik sees the solution for demarcation: That doesn't mean that we will place barbed wires on our borders

- In the last 20 years, the Dayton Agreement wasn't respected, the rights of Republika Srpska have been reduced, the position of our countrymen in surrounding countries is difficult - Milorad Dodik said

The president of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik thinks that it is the time for Serbs to come up with a clear political, national program and demands, which could be their goal in this century, unlike the previous, which was catastrophic one for us.

If Kosovo enters the UN, Republika Srpska will ask for a seat as well! Dodik warned: They can't exclude arguments in Bosnia and Herzegovina

He mentions that the international circumstances have changed, but he doesn't think about the changes in American attitude or some other country, but the fact that in the last 20 years, the Dayton Agreement wasn't respected, the rights of Republika Srpska have been reduced, the position of our countrymen in surrounding countries is difficult, and Serbs had enough of all humiliations.

The time of the nineties and bad period of Serbian people is over. We have to lift up above that and to say: "Yes, we stopped here, we came to this point, what is it that we want to do to make it better for us?", the president of Srpska is confident and he adds:

- We are torn to Serbian national and state corps, we are constantly preoccupied with some solutions, Kosovo or Republika Srpska, here or there, we are going without a clear sign - he said and mentions that the first thing that needs to be solved is the demarcation.

- Why demarcation? Because all of the nations are around Serbs, and Serbs have been a bringer of freedom through history, they are trying to create their nation and a state using anti-Serbian politics. Starting from Croatia to Bosniaks here in Bosnia, Albanians in Kosovo, Montenegrins in Montenegro, and Macedonians, who are denying the right to our Church to exist there, and many other things - he explains.

And if that is the case, then it is the best to do demarcation.

- That doesn't mean that we will place barbed wires on our borders. No, we just want to confirm our interests. That means Republika Srpska, Serbia, four municipalities of Kosovo, reintegration of Serbian political and national interests in Montenegro - Dodik explains the term of demarcation, the way he sees it.

President of Republika Srpska says that he supports the idea of the president of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, but adds that he is also in favor of demarcation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Republika Srpska should continue to fight for the full state capacity. I believe in that idea, no matter that someone might laugh at that. I believe because I feel the pulse of the people here, which simply hasn't stopped believing in that idea and that the time will come when we will be able to position ourselves - Dodik said.

The fact that the idea of demarcation was introduced by president Vucic as his personal opinion, was met with fierce resistance by the opposition, Dodik explains with stating that Serbian people as a whole opposes every kind of authority. Institutional and personal.

- There is no powerful nation in the world without a strong leader. And as if Serbs are trying to deny or destroy themselves their leaders, or those who were given the opportunity to be leaders. Djindjic became a great statesman only when he was buried, and before that, we couldn't hear anything about him - the president of Srpska notices.

He adds that one part of the concept of international community is to rule long-term in these areas and that is bringing down leaders and institutions.

- As soon as you rise to power with your people, more than what the foreigners think you are allowed, they will start bringing you down. And they are destroying institutions that way. According to this, that story is necessary and we have to unite around some authority. You often thought that it is around the church, but we see that some are challenging the patriarch as well. They are challenging everything that comes as a true process of seeking and positioning the nation and the people - Dodik says.

In that context, with the statement that he has great respect for the Chuch as a "key element of every identity", he looked at the serious problem, the attack on Aleksandar Vucic, which was sent from Decani over the idea of demarcation with Albanians by the president of Serbia.

- I have no intentions to lecture anyone, and of course, I have compassion and empathy, whatever you might call it, towards our friends who are staying or who are far away out of Serbia's borders. But, one pathetic story about four monarchies to be an exclusive factor of the of the Serbian national state policy, that speaks that Serbia is a democratic society, where the freedom of opinion is far more pronounced than anyone would like to admit, even in Serbia itself - Dodik said.

He is convinced that Serbia will manage to protect its interests if Vucic stays as a statesman and not just a politician. As a statesman, "he will have to make decisions which will be declared incomprehensible or something else at the moment, but which will bring exclusively benefit for the Serbian state and national interest".

Asked what he thinks about the statement of Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel that there are no changes on Balkans, he said that first, we should say that Germany "is a champion in changing borders" and that they "detonated the change of borders in former Yugoslavia".

- Germany at the time under Genscher was just a key factor in starting a war and waging war in the former Yugoslavia, because they demanded, through their European project, as they used to call it, to recognize Slovenia and Croatia as independent states, and there were no internal agreements around that, and when they did that, the war was able to start, of course - he explained.

Thus, a stereotype was created that Germany wants to conserve, Dodik said.

- They think that the question of Kosovo is over and that Kosovo has its borders. The fact that it has some inner borders with the north and four municipalities doesn't matter, they think it will solve on its own, with some kind of agreement, but that one day it will be solved, according to their estimates - he stated.

However, the president of Srpska is emphasizing the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina has its own inner borders.

- Those borders are clearly drawn, they are written down. Those borders are now called entity borders, and there are no reasons not to change them some day. Only naive will think that the problem of Bosnia is over, by keeping it hypothetically closed like that.

When asked what he thinks of the speculation that the issue of Kosovo and Metohija will be resolved at an international conference, Dayton two, Dodik has no dilemma:

- Serbs don't need Dayton, that is stupid. I see that you have pretensions that democracy should solve that. Diplomacy will give the last stamp, and the solution must be achieved here. So, if we have unique national consensus, if all institutions in Serbia have a unique opinion on the desire what should be done, then it is a quite a different thing - Dodik concludes.
