The Court of Appeal in Skopje today confirmed the first instance verdict of 20 years in prison handed down by the Criminal Court because in June 1993, "in a cruel way, out of greed" he killed his girlfriend Meri Josenvka. After the fight he first started strangling her and then hit her with a crystal ashtray two times in the head. Then he stabbed her with a kitchen knife 40 times in her body and head. Josevska died on spot, and the murdered took all the gold jewelry out of her apartment and ran away.
Police soon caught him, and the Court sentenced him to 20 years in prison in 1993. Until the final verdict, he was released. He used this mistake of the court and he ran away, there has been so sight of him.
After many years of running and hiding, he was arrested together with few criminals, under the name Zoran Tomovic, in February 2012 in Bern because of series of robberies in Switzerland and other European countries and it is suspected that he is a member of the gang "Pink Panther". That gang got their name after the first diamond stealing, worth half a million dollars, in London, which they put in face cream box with the picture of this famous cartoon character. Interpol presumes that the group "Pink Panther" has around 200 members, mostly from the area of former Yugoslavia, and until now, they committed robberies of jewelry stores and took 500 million dollars worth of treasures.
