Dacic: Friendship between Serbia and Macedonia should not be demolished

First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said that he agreed with the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia that the friendship between Serbia and Macedonia should not be demolished.

He said that he is deeply convinced in use of friendly relations with Macedonia but he added that he cannot pretend he doesn't see that Macedonia has recognized Kosovo and voted for the admission of Kosovo to UNESCO, while Serbia has recognized Macedonia under its constitutional name, which is the most important state question of Macedonia, stated from the Ministry of Foreign affairs.

- Should i remind colleagues in Skopje how much has Serbia invested all these years, recognizing Macedonia under it's constitutional name, risking the relations with Greece, even though UN and EU use the name FYROM (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia), and after that Macedonia has recognized the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo - said the minister.

He pointed that colleagues in Skopje know well how much he personally contributed to the development of friendly relations, as a Minister of Internal Affairs and as Prime Minister, and now as a Minister of Foreign affairs. They also know that Serbia is one of the rare countries that has never interfered with the internal affairs of Macedonia, said the statement.

- Colleagues in Skopje know well that we personally talked with Grujevski and Poposki, but also with president Ivanov, about UNESCO voting on admission of Kosovo, which is vital national question for us. Macedonia has voted at the end against Serbia for admission of Kosovo, and they burned and demolished Serbian Orthodox churches and temples on Kosovo - reminded Dacic.

Respected colleagues from Skopje should know that that demolishes our friendship, he pointed.  

- It is a clear message that Albanian interest or someone else's, no matter, is more important than friendship with Serbia - marked Dacic.

- My statements will be easy, but what will we do with with political decision in particular in the next period - asked Dacic marking that it is a opportunity to show that politicians think as two friendly people.

- Belgrade has never done anything to harm Skopje, we would like it to be the same on their end. And if its not, then no one has the rights to be mad at Serbia for protecting their own interests - concluded Dacic.
