President of European Athletics thrilled with organization of the European Championships in Belgrade: Serbia has, and has always had top athletes!

European Indoor Championship in Athletics in Belgrade Arena was officially opened by President of the European Athletics Federation, Svein Arne Hansen. He said he was delighted that Serbia and Belgrade organized the competition and expressed satisfaction that he sees a lot of athletes from the Olympic Games in Belgrade.

- I would like to welcome everyone, this is the first time that such a competition was organized in Belgrade. This competition is in our calendar, the second most important after the European championship in the open.

- I'm glad to see a large number of top European competitors from last season who took part in the Olympics. There are competitors from Serbia, primarily, big star Ivana Spanovic, who is defending the title, and has also won the medal for Serbia.
