Veselin Jevrosimovic proud of the organization of European Championship: Ivana, thank you for brightening the face of the whole nation (VIDEO)

President of the Athletics Federation of Serbia Veselin Jevrosimovic said he was overwhelmed after the great organization of the European Indoor Championships in our capital, for which it won praise largest officials from world and European athletics.

He thanked Ivana Spanovic and her coach Goran Obradovic because they made the nation happy with new medal and that Belgrade had the honor close the European Championship in the best possible way, with the national anthem "Boze Pravde".

- I am so happy and proud, and who would not be proud when you have in your team such as athlete like Ivana Spanovic and her coach Goran Obradovic. I am proud of how the championship was organized and we received praise from all world and European athletics leaders that this is the best organized and most beautiful competition that ever took place. We are now also already qualified to hold the world indoor championships.

Those problems that you saw in the end, they are related to electronics that was not part of our organization, it is a new technology that had to be tested.

- We beat the record when it comes to audience. None to European Indoor Athletics competitions was not visited as much in one day. Thanks to the volunteers who have made a great contribution, they have proven to be very useful. Congratulations to our athletes who have fought like lions. Congratulations to Ivana Spanovic, who has made astronomical score, which is the most valuable at the ranks of today - said the President of Athletic Federation of Serbia.

- Ivana, what can i say, limit is still far away and we can not even anticipate her limits. Thank you for brightening the face of Athletic Federation and the entire nation - said Veselin Jevrosimovic.

Director of the Federation, Slobodan Brankovic talked as well, who said that there were around 12.000 visitors in the arena, and he believes that Belgrade issued candidacy for obtaining the World Indoor Championships in Athletics.

- I am drained as if I was running about three or four races, but I have the strength to congratulate Ivana on the great job. I would lie to you if I said I did not dream about it, the dream came true with our anthem in the Arena and the gold medal. We showed that the athletic crowd is cultural audience. And when the Albanian contestant was on the podium and the anthem of Albania, there was no whistle.

- With the support of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the City of Belgrade, we are moving forward. I'm sure we can organize World Championship with dignity and I believe that we will get it, because we have the people and we have the soul. We are not yet finished with the organization because we have return the Arena in its original shape in the next 15-20 days.

- We have shown that Serbia is best at long jump, that we have the coach who knows how to pace the form of their athletes for the most important competition. We had 8798 people with tickets on the last day, but also we had 2000 VIP people, sports workers, and athletes so the number for tonight is around 12.000 viewers. On the first day there were around 6.000, on the second 7.000 - said Brankovic.
