America decided to cut the Kosovo knot! A clear message of the ambassador in Pristina
- We are encouraged to see a wider political engagement in the dialogue with Serbia, and we hope that other opposition parties will decide to participate
The US Embassy in Pristina is demanding two opposition parties, the Democratic Union of Kosovo, of Isa Mustafa, and the Movement of Self-determination, Albina Kurti, to engage in dialogue with Belgrade, but also not to block it, writes Pristina Zeri.
The Embassy announced that it was not the time for the opposition to be outside of this process, nor to create obstacles to reaching a compelling solution.
Zeri writes that US diplomats in Pristina are allegedly encouraged to work on expanding political engagement in dialogue-related engagement.
- We are encouraged to see a wider political engagement in the dialogue with Serbia, and we hope that other opposition parties will decide to participate.
As President Trump said in his letter, "Kosovo should use this unique moment and speak with a unique voice," the US Embassy stated in response for Zeri.
Also, US diplomats warn that it's not the time to create barriers for dialogue with Serbia. "Now is not the time to remain alone and to create obstacles for a comprehensive solution ", stated in the letter of US embassy.
Kosovo assembly voted the resolution for Dialogue with Serbia and named the members of the team, which is lead by Spend Ahmeti and Fatmir Limaj.
Democratic Union of Kosovo and the Movement of Self-determination, however, refuse to participate in that team. Both parties believe that there should be early parliamentary elections and that the government of Ramush Haradinaj is not legitimate.
