NEWS OF THE YEAR: Serbia gets another National holiday!

This holiday is already celebrated in most of Slovenian countries

Saints Cyril and Methodius day, May 24, from next year in Serbia should be the labeled as the Day of Slovenian literacy as a national holiday to be celebrated as a work day, announced today by the Minister of Culture and Information Vladan Vukosavljevic.

Vukosavljevic explained today to the journalists in Belgrade that it is not a sacral ritual, but a day which should remind the importance of the legacy of the creators of Slovenian literacy in the 9th century Cyril and Methodius.

According to him Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Issues Aleksandar Vulin agreed with the proposition and it should soon enter into the official procedure.

Vukosavljevic said that this holiday is already celebrated in most of Slovenian countries.

On the press conference in Ministry of Culture and Information, the extension of the campaign "Let's nurture the Serbian Language", which has been lead in Belgrade, and it will expand to the entire country.
