Meeting between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels completed : Mogherini encouraged by the efforts of both sides

The meeting between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels ended last night just after 23 hours.

High Representative for EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said after the meeting that she was encouraged by constructive engagement Belgrade and Pristina showed in a new round of dialogue and added that this process is important for the region and the EU.

In a statement after today's meeting at the highest level, she stated that the commitment and political temper will make a significant contribution to reducing tensions and that the work will be continued in the same spirit.  

- The dialogue is a very important process for Serbia and Kosovo, but also for the region and the EU. The progress in normalization of relations is essential for the preservation of peace and progress towards the EU. It is crucial for Europe and regional stability - said Mogherini.

All participants of meeting, according to her, reiterated their full commitment to work together on dialogue.

- I would like to thank all participants, presidents Thaci and Nikolic and Vucic and Mustafa for an open and constructive discussion we had - said Mogherini adding that the meeting is a continuation of the dialogue held on 24 January.
