Driver and passengers of "Alfa Romeo", whose names were not published", had crazy luck when on the road Bitolj - Kicevo, near the village Kozica on the west of Macedonia, a bear charged in front of the vehicle.

They walked the woods when a bear appeared in front of them, Macedonians couldn't believe that it is charging towards them! (VIDEO)

The driver, as Stefan Dimovski said, spokesman of Ohrid police, did not have the time to brake, so he directly hit the wild animal and killed it in sight. Passengers in the car remained unharmed, but the car suffered significant damage.

This is not the first time that the bears are flying out to the road. Almost three months ago, on the highway Skopje - Tetovo, near the toll station at the village Grupcin, an unusual traffic accident occurred, a van collided, whose driver is A.F. from Skopje, and a car "Seat Leon" driven by M.V. The car then hid the bear which was on the road. The animal died, and M.V. and his fellow traveler sustained heavy injuries and were transferred to Skopje hospital.

Local residents say that the number of bears has significantly increased since this wild animal is protected by law.

Bears could be seen near the village houses, and even in yards, and they do most damage to beekeepers in villages Kozica, Svinjista, Crsko, Prostranje, Belica and other areas in this region.

There almost is no village in Macedonia that it hasn't been visited by hungry bears. The beasts are taking down metal fences, barbwire and everything on their way to reach the sweet prey in beehives. Beekeeper Nikolovski, who has more than 90 hives near the Strezevsko Lake, has suffered the most damage, especially in the winter.

- Bear or Bears never came in the apiary. I set up a fence, from wire, but that did not help. It took the honey, but it also made a great damage. It rolled over the beehives and bees died on the cold - complains Nikolovski.

After the last attack of the hungry bears, this young beekeeper set up the searchlights and sirens which go off on the motion detection, in hope that he will be safe from the invasive bears.

Bears used to come to apiary, so he got a litigation with the state, asking for damage compensation.

Beekeepers of Bitolj area said that they are no longer able to keep the hives because of the frequent bear attacks in Nizepolje, Dragas, Cagor, Streznjevo area and in Demir Hisar.

- The state should note how many bears are there in the country and to take care about their food, and not us the beekeepers. Even in Turkey, if they notice that the number of males increased in one region, they tranquilize them and send them 400 kilometers away, and they say the number has been completely in nature. Macedonia should follow their footsteps - said Macedonian beekeepers and add, that in Germany, the food is prepared regularly and brought to nature to then.

Hungry bears don't attack the beehives only, but also the fish ponds. Not so long ago, pond of Blagoje Kotevski was a mark. The feast of a starving bear lasted entire weekend. Uninvited guest ate around 100 kilos of fish and left Blagoje with nothing.

Polister bear is protected by law. Kotevski did not sue the state because of his empty pond, because of the bad experiences of other keepers because their marathon long cases proving that bears made damage in their households.
