International company Comtrade opened in Maribor in Slovenia the doors to its new Software development center, and you could follow the opening ceremony directly on Telegraf.
The ribbon of the new development center was cut by the President of Comtrade Group Veselin Jevrosimovic and CEO of Comtrade Alexis Lope-Bello, and the opening was attended by a large number of business partners, clients, as well as distinguished guests from economic and political life in Slovenia.
- With this investment, Comtrade once again confirms that Slovenia plays a key role in the implementation of our international strategy. With development centers in Slovenia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as a network of offices in Ireland, the USA, Austria, Dubai and the Philippines, Comtrade Group is one of the most prominent IT companies in the region, which employs the most promising professionals in the field of IT solutions - said owner and president of Comtrade group, Veselin Jevrosimovic, at the opening ceremony.
He added that from the very beginning Comtrade's mission is to place high-quality and innovative technology on the world market.
- I am proud of Comtrade from before, since this is the third center they opened in Slovenia. Comtrade is one of the strongest brands that Serbia has. I am very proud to be here today, and Slovenians are very pleased with this move - said the Serbian ambassador in Slovenia - Aleksandar Radovanovic.
- Since the company Comtrade has been founded in Slovenia and to this day, we have exported services in the value greater than 800 million euros. Imagine what we can do with technological center like the one being opened in Maribor now. We don't export product, but intelligence thanks to talented engineers. This is a region with incredible talents. When people ask me how do you see Slovenia, i said that in the near future, this region will become alternative for Silicon Valley - Said Alexis Lope-Bello, CEO of Comtrade company.
Besides supporting the development of experts in IT sector, new software development center in Maribor will open the doors to local start up companies. Talented entrepreneurs will get an opportunity to use modern office space and an innovative working environment to develop their own business.

The opening ceremony of Comtrade development center was supported by Sasa Pelko, Deputy Mayor of Maribor, Ales Cantarutti , State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, Aleksandar Radovanovic, Serbia's ambassador to Slovenia, as well as many other distinguished guests from the economic and political life in Slovenia.
- We have professional staff in Maribor and knowledge when it comes to IT, so the company like Comtrade is more than welcome in our city. We wish for young to stay here and not to leave Maribor and Slovenia. Our city will appreciate this investment and provide Comtrade company with all the help it needs to maintain the successful business - said Sasa Pelko, Deputy Mayor of Maribor.
