This year's anniversary was not traditionally marked in Sarajevo in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), because of the tensions between the cantonal and federal authorities, which did not guarantee the safety of participants. Therefore, the memorial service was served in East Sarajevo in the temple of the Holy Martyr George , after which wreaths were laid at the memorial cross on the Military Cemetery.

It was said once again today that the crime in Dobrovoljacka must not be forgotten. Officials of Republika Srpska (RS) sent a clear message that the crime in Dobrovoljacka street in Sarajevo one of the greatest crimes in BiH, which still doesn't have a court epilogue.

- Dobrovoljacka Street is undoubtedly a war crime and shows that the political agreement Muslims guaranteed, the peaceful exit of the army from Sarajevo, was not respected - said the President of the Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik.

Milenko Savanovic, Minister of Labor and Veterans Protection of RS, said that this year they decided to mark the suffering of persons of Yugoslav People's Army only Miljevic because of unfair treatment by the authorities in Sarajevo, who do not allow the placement of memorial with the names of the fallen in the former Dobrovoljacka for years now.

- You can imagine the amount of hatred when in the attack of Muslim paramilitary formations, besides Serbs, members of other nations died. Muslims, Croats and Albanians died in that place. It states that this people (Muslims), thanks to that country became a constituent since 1945, but Serbs gave sacrifice for their constitutionality. And besides, you saw earlier the amount of intolerance and hatred towards members of the Serbian nation - said Savanovic.

Marking the suffering of Yugoslav People's Army soldiers was attended by Milenko Stankovic, and the National Assembly delegation consisting of Deputy Parliament Speaker Sonja Karadzic Jovicevic and MPs Marko Vidakovic and Miroslav Brckalo and many gathered citizens, families of victims and priests.

On the other hand, in the former Sarajevo Dobrovoljacka street, members of the Green Berets marked the anniversary of "defending the BiH capital and suffering of late members of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina who gave their lives in defense of the homeland", reports the Avaz.ba.

The veterans laid wreaths and said prayers at memorial plaque of comrades killed at the bridge Drvenija in Sarajevo in the former Dobrovoljacka street. They were joined by the Minister of Veterans Affairs of Canton Sarajevo Muharem Fiso.

War commander of the Military Police Battalion Dzevad Topic Topa said that, if there were no thugs in sneakers, on 2 and 3 May 1992, Sarajevo would certainly fall.

- It was 'D' day for Sarajevo. There were various units and everything was quite disorganized, but in any case, without these guys in sneakers, Sarajevo would have fallen - said Topic to the assembled journalists.

Let us recall, in early May 1992, a crime against innocent soldiers, officers and civilian personnel serving in the Yugoslav People's Army, during the agreed peaceful retreat from Sarajevo, was committed by Green Berets, the Patriotic League, Ministry of Internal affairs and Territorial defense of BiH.

The column of military vehicles of Yugoslav People's Army, leaving Sarajevo, May 3, 1992, started from the barracks in Bistrik where the command of the former Second Army Area was located. Leaving of the column from the city was previously agreed in exchange for the of the release of kidnapped and imprisoned the President of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Alija Izetbegovica day earlier at the airport in Sarajevo, who was captured by members of the Yugoslav People's army, while returning from peace negotiations in Lisbon.

In a battle between defenders of Sarajevo and members of the former Yugoslav People's Army in the former Dobrovoljacka, according to the Prosecution of BiH, there were 7 killed and 14 wounded people. In one of his last interviews before his death in 2002, General Milutin Kukanjac, then commander of the Second Army Area, who ordered the withdrawal of the Yugoslav People's Army from Sarajevo, confirmed that six people died in Dobrovoljacka street in 3 May 1992.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina in January 2012 suspended the investigation against 14 people in the case of "Dobrovoljacka". Among them were retired Army General Jovan Divjak and wartime presidency member Ejup Ganic. Hague Tribunal gave their opinion about the event "Dobrovoljacka" which found that the army convoy on the street was a" legitimate military target ".
