Grandma Zivana Djolovic lives in village Gordnja Dobrinja near Pozega together with her grandchildren who have disabilities. The poverty is high, and the children, apart from their grandma and neighbor Nada, have no one in the world. Grandma's pension is 10.000 dinars (around 90 euros) and they are barely able to feed themselves.

Our editorial staff contacted Nada Vitanovic, a neighbor of grandma Zivana, who is trying to help this family as much as she can.

- Zivana's grandson Dusko is 19 years old and he is developmentally disabled. He stayed in a home in Uzice where he graduated a special school for locksmiths. However, he is not capable of doing the job. Granddaughter Duska is now completing seventh grade and she is in dorm. When she comes to her grandma, they all gather in one room, and the conditions are terrible. Grandma is getting 10.000 dinars from agricultural pension, and i am helping as much as i can - said Zivana's neighbor Nada Vitanovic for our portal.

The mother left the children, she never visited them, and their father died eight years ago.

- I took custody of the children, because they were all written off. They have relatives, but nobody takes care of them. They live in very difficult conditions, they do not even have drinking water, so I have to bring it. Dusko helps with everything, but someone always has to be with him, and Dusica is currently in the Dorm. I'm trying hard to provide everything, but I can not do it myself. My soul hurts when I see them suffer - added Nada crying.

Grandma Zivana is afraid what will happen to her grandchildren when she is dead.

- They don't need much. This house is old and it can collapse, it is cheaper for them o build some smaller house, to at least have one room and a bathroom. They inherited the property from their father, so it would be good if people helped to build them a new house, because they won't survive the winter here. Snow was tall, and when i carried water, i barely reached them.

- I pay her bills, I bought her a cell phone so she could call me when she needed something. She was sick a few days ago, she called me and we immediately took her to the hospital. She had a hip surgery four years ago, now she was really feeling bad, so she was kept for the tests - Nada told us.

As she says, there are locals who negatively comment on her commitment to this unfortunate family.

- We are a really nasty people. They told me that I was a nanny, they asked me what I was doing, but I did not look back at their words. The most important thing to me is that Granny Zivana, Dusko and Duska are satisfied, and I do not care for the rest - she added.

Nada also addressed the competent services, but no one wanted to hear her.

- I asked for help, but there was no reaction. I did not know what to do anymore, so I asked for help from Snezana Radojcic, a writer and world traveler on the bike - added Nada with a smile on her face.

Snezana lives in the Far East, and her friends visited the Djolovic family. When they confirmed that Granny, together with her grandson and granddaughter barely survive, Snezana decided to help.

She will drive this summer on Pamirs Plateau to Tajikistan and cross the high passage of 4,655 m to collect 4.655 $ for the reconstruction of Djolovic house.

- I will not go down from the altitudes below 3,500 meters for weeks, I will cross over 4,000 meters over the course, as well as the highest peak, Aikbaikal, which is 4,655 meters above sea level - announced Radojicic on her blog.

She, also, calls the people of good will to participate in gathering the means to restore the house of family Djolovic.

Every cent will be sent to grandma Zivana. I will cover the expenses of the trip myself, everything collected during the drive will be intended for family Djolovic - said Snezana.

Dinar payments can be made directly to the account of Zivana Djolovic in Intesa Bank: 160-5300101988025-75 . For foreign currency payments, click HERE.

Snezana Radojicic adds that every kind of assistance to the Djolovic family is welcome.

- It does not have to be financial help. You may be able to provide building materials, or do something at home without compensation, or to find Dusan some sort of work - said Snezana.
