Milica Marjanovic is the fifth generation of the family in Belgrade from Vracar, until last year, when her address in her I.D. changed. Now her address is in the village Vojkovci where she lives with her husband Veljko and four of their children.

They live right in the foothills of the Rudnik. She worked as a pedicure in a beauty salon. And she has been cooking on a stove this autumn, she makes winter storage, jams, she is pasteurizing cucumbers. And she is not sorry for leaving Belgrade.

This family has officially moved to Vojkovce, they registered the agricultural property on her name and the oldest son started going to school there. Search for life outside of the city began in 2013, even though they had only 50 euros in their pockets, and they were searching for the weekend cottage. They visited few places in Serbia and they found a place and an old house in Vojkovci, village half a way between Topola and Gornji Milanovac. They have 4.5 hectares of land with fruits and forests.

- Then we sold the apartment on Vracar and they build their own house here. A year ago we officially changed our address. My husband is still in the construction business and he is often out in the field, and that kind of security is always needed, for the children. But, we hope that it will soon change - said Milica, who is slowly developing her business with winter storage.

Her greatest trouble was fire in the stove

When she arrived in Vojkovce and when she started making organic Ajvar, she admits that she didn't even know how to start a fire in the stove.

- They make jokes about me that pedicure finally has something black under the nails. But, I got over those starting steps and I have a lot of winter storages now, and I mostly sell it in Belgrade. There, whom where I came from. We found a lot of fruits of indigenous varieties in the land. We did the ground analysis and we are now making a plan with the experts from the Agricultural Service how to improve our crops - adds Milica

Milica and Veljko always knew that they want a big family. The four of their children, nine-year-old Safa, five years old twins Dunja and Relja, and the youngest Djordje, are getting used to living in the countryside.

- Life in the country is good for us. When I have to go to Belgrade do finish something, and when I come back home, everything is shaking in front of my eyes because of the crowd and noise. We have no regrets, nor we think that we made a mistake. For now, the business is going well, but I am still learning - said Milica.

She makes ajvar from organic paprikas, but also delicacies like carrot jam with ginger or tomato juice with hot peppers, and she is experimenting with zucchini and turmeric. She experiments and combines exotic flavors with healthy fruits and vegetables from the Rudnik.

One of her best friends was a Cookbook before she started making winter storages. They eat cheese and cream from locals, pies from homemade eggs. They will soon buy sheep, and they have a large part of steep ground covered in bushes to clear which leads to the stream.
