A couple from Belgrade turned a van into "home-mobile" and they going to Scandinavia: They will live in phenomenal 4.8 square meters in the next few months (PHOTO) (VIDEO)

Take a look how their "home-mobile" looks like and what you need for this kind of life

When you connect the desire to travel the world with the idea from friends in Portugal, a van emerges in which you have everything, from a kitchen to the bathroom. And with a home like that, your yard is the ocean one day, the pine forest on the next one, or a large city, or actually anything you can imagine. Straginja Tanaskovic (30) and Anja Vukovic (31) from Belgrade came up with the idea to make a "home-mobile" and to travel with it, and they are going to Scandinavia this time.

The idea was born last year when they borrowed a reworked van from a friend from Portugal.

- When we opened the back door with toothbrushes in our mouths and when we saw that we have the ocean as our yard, we understood that we had to get a vehicle like this in our lives. We started working for it right away, instead of dreaming for it to happen. We sketched the "home-mobile" from the tricks we saw on the internet and from our own ideas about what we are going to need in our new van house - the couple said.

The best part of the story happens in a moment when they posted their idea on their Instagram profile.

- We asked people to recommend a repairman so he could help us and we hit the jackpot - a whole variety of people who offered to help us accomplish our dream. We received messages such as: "If you need some carpentry, I am here to help" and "guys, I can decorate your van", and so on.

They even managed to make a van into a giant WiFi router with the help of one company with "fagilion" terabytes, powered by a solar system, to be of good use to people if they are in trouble...

They moved into their 4.8 square meters in just a few days, with the idea to live in it for a few months while traveling from Serbia to Scandinavia.

Thanks to the miniature solar-powered fridge and a little gas portable stove, and they use the same food as they do at home.

- Here, for example, we had scrambled eggs this morning with freshly picked wild garlic and cheese we bought in a family household in Balkan Mountains. And due to the lack of room, the dishes are also smaller, and most of the furniture is foldable so it can be placed in various positions. And the interesting things we got are a portable toilet, hyper quickly drying towel and a winch flashlight.

THE ROUTE TO SCANDINAVIA

They first plan on going around the Balkans, traveling according to the roughly thought route. When we came in contact with them, they were already parked on the coast of Danube, near Veliko Gradiste.

- As soon as we drink our coffee we are firing up the engine and we are heading to Djerdap, and then to Balkan Mountains, and we will go around everything on our way to Macedonia. You can follow our life in 4.8 square meters on our Instagram or FB profile. We are publishing regularly on the web DIY with the budget and the list of things for everybody who will think after reading this that "they were born for nothing if they don't try doing this" - Strahinja said.

Unlike the last year when they headed to the road with all the money they could come up with, this year they don't have a backup money, they get the money from the jobs they do.

- If we are short sometimes, we agreed to make pancakes from the van, on public gatherings until the police chase us away.

The idea is to make a circle from Serbia to Scandinavia. They headed out a weak ago, they are going across Balkans first. Then to Greece, over Mediterranean, and then across England to the north of Europe.

- Although, if someone invites us to drop by to a world championship in yodeling on the Dolomites, we will surely be able to change our route a little bit.

Of course, they couldn't do all that if they had normal jobs.

- Two months ago we celebrated a year since we haven't been a burden of the Republic pension and social insurance fund. We became a small creative agency and we started doing jobs that don't tie us up to be in an office or Serbia. That is why we can travel, and it often happens that we do a whole shift on Sunday evening.

THEY ARE MISSING A WASHING MACHINE

They are only missing a washing machine since they even have a WC in the van, and they planned on making a camping shower.

- You fill it with water and you place it on the back door of the van, and then you have a nice shower in some Pine tree or on a beach. Until then, we are getting by with the goodwill of some hotel owners, accommodations that are prepared to let us showed for a small amount of money, especially when it is not the height of the tourist season.

When you head out for such adventures, then you can expect to run across all kind of things. Many locals were friendly with them, and there were those "humorous" encounters.

- We parked in a village near Zajecar to sleep and to get some wine from the small family wineries in the morning. It was in the evening and we dropped by the only store which was occupied by around 15 locals, so-called "Ministry of Other Peoples' Business". They came over us and they wanted to mess around with no bad intentions, and then the leader of the clan tried to give cat food to Straginja as an indigenous specialty from these parts. If he wasn't so drunk and if we didn't have a cat at home, he might have pulled it off - Anja remembers.
