There is little chance of a final agreement with Belgrade: Thaci for merging of the "Presevo Valley" to Kosovo

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci argues that the chances to come to a final agreement with Belgrade are very small and at the same time insists that the final word in eventual agreement with Belgrade will be given by Kosovo parliament.

- I want to emphasize that the dialogue has only one important purpose, to help reach the final agreement. That is why everybody included in this process and public debate should know that agreements are realized only through dialogue, and not through war - Thaci said at the press conference, Pristina Koha reports.

He announced that the dynamic of the dialogue will be accelerated, but that both sides if they reject the dialogue, will have consequences regarding Euro-integration.

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci said today that there will be no "autonomy for the north" of Kosovo and reiterated that Pristina does not accept the division or exchange of territories, but only "border correction", or the joining of the "Presevo Valley" to Kosovo.

- I think that it is time to strengthen the role and will of our citizens. We still haven't fulfilled the interest of citizens. We didn't have the right for a referendum - Thaci said. 

He also stated that he consulted with the international community in order to facilitate the expression of the right to a referendum, KosovoPres said.
