THE SPEARS WILL BREAK OVER SERBIA AGAIN: Putin and Trump are dividing the world and they are starting from Kosovo

Kosovo could be used as the concession in the new era of reconciliation between USA and Russia, consider British analysts. Moscow does not exclude the possibility that USA could present an offer "Crimea for Kosovo"

Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are dividing the world and they are starting from Serbia, in short, this could be the description of all analysis that appeared in the last few days in western and also in Russian media. Namely, in accordance with the expectations that there will be an improvement of relations between the two superpowers, which are the worst terms ever since the Cold War, political analysts say it will lead to a new detente, and a new division of spheres of interest. In all these analyzes, Serbia, and our southern province of Kosovo and Metohija are an integral factor.

The loudest in their analysis are the British, who don't exclude conflicts on Balkans in possible scenarios of bad relations between USA and Russia.

Kosovo could be used as the concession in the new era of reconciliation between USA and Russia, considers former British minister Denis MacShane in the analysis of the situation in the region and relations between Trump-Putin-Belgrade-Pristina, but he stresses that the scenario could bring already turbulent region into new open conflict.

In an article for London Independent, he writes that Trump is determined to drastically improve relations with Vladimir Putin and Russia, and he said that relations are "even worse than they were during the cold war".

MacShane, who was a minister in charge for Balkans in British Foreign Office, said that there could be a following scenario: Vladimir Putin, who is great ally of Serbia, asking from Trump to support official Belgrade in the dispute with Pristina. That kind of epilogue, considers MacShane, could bring already turbulent region into new open conflict which would soon grow into another bloody war.

On the other hand, Mary Dejevsky, "Guardian" columnist and leading expert for Russia in Great Britain considers that Moscow could be to one to make a concession by recognizing Kosovo as part of establishing a new relationship of America and Russia.

She said that Moscow could recognize Kosovo as a part of the package of the agreement, whose goal would be closing of different post-cold war diplomatic problems that endangered the relations between the forces.

Dejevsky, as states, is regularly meeting with the leaders of Kremlin through the group "Valdaj". Precisely the answer to her statement arrives from this group and any kind of trade between Russia and USA is dismissed.

- I think there are no foundations to start the question of recognizing Kosovo. Actually, the problem of Kosovo on Balkans can't be brought into relation with Russian-American relations, and with that the trade is impossible. In different terms, Kosovo is not a subject of conversation between two countries and i don't believe it will mentioned on agenda. Only in the case if the situation on Balkans drastically worsened and new hotspot appeared, which endangers the international and regional safety, the question of Kosovo could be started between Kremlin and the White House. But, at the moment, there are no factors that could change the Kremlin attitude about the territorial integrity of Serbia - said Andrej Susencov for Sputnik, program director of Valdaj club, expert for USA foreign polity and the chief of Russian agency Foreign Policy.

However, Igor Pshenichnikov, Adviser to the Director of the Russian Institute of Strategic Research, does not exclude the possibility that the United States could offer "the Crimea for Kosovo". But he is confident that Moscow will not agree under any circumstances.

- By recognizing Kosovo we would betray our main ally on Balkans, and also, that would be a signal to everybody who are in separatist mood in Serbia. Besides that, Russian recognition of Kosovo would mean breaking of existing system of international rights, that would be immoral act, and that is why Russia will never do that - concludes Pshenichnikov.

As a reminder, last month, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that "Serbia can fully count on the support of Russia to protect the territorial integrity when it comes to Kosovo."
